Scratch that Goal

Well, that didn’t work out as planned.

I watched Ian’s YouTube video multiple times and even traded messages with him. I found out that while using SmugMug for my blog sounded pretty good, it turns out that there are a number of shortcomings.

The biggest thing is that when you create a new post, there is no easy/automatic way to notify followers that you have posted something new. One suggestion was to use MailChimp to create a list of followers with their email addresses and then send out an email every time I created a new post. To do that I would need to sign-up for MailChimp and learn how to use it. Do I really want to add another app? I don’t think so.

I have decided to go back to just using WordPress.com for my blog. I will spend some time going back through the fonts and various formats that can be used to see if any of them are closer to what I use with SmugMug. I am also going to spend some time doing a better job of learning how to use WordPress before I add another post.
